Crew
All those involved in running Neighbourhood Sessions are volunteers who love live music and bringing joy to audience and artists alike by keeping music live. The people you are most likley to meet at a gig Steve, Ben and Simon, but there are plenty of others who help out on the door, on the bar and in the background.
Although Neighbourhood Sessions is a not for profit event, we aim to bring a high standard of professionalism to the organisation and production.
Steve Ford
Host and organiser
Steve is the host for Neighbourhood Sessions and probably the first person you will meet when you are arranging a gig, buying a ticket or checking in on the door. Steve leads the team and is responsible for booking artists, sorting out the ticketing website, marketing and promotion, website development, host on the night, making sure a team is available and welcoming guests on the door.
Phew! its quite a lot - good job he loves it so much!
He is married with 3 kids and is also a qualified Actuary by profession.
Simon Lang
Pastor and barman
Simon is the lead pastor at Neighbourhood Church and has a heart for the community. He loves live music and gets a buzz putting on Sessions and brining people together. Simon generously allows the building to be used for these events for no cost, allowing more of the ticket price to go to the artists. He organises all the building aspects as well as being a gregarious and efficient barman!
Aylwin Steele
Audio recording
Aylwin Steele of the Tape Shed has been our audio recording engineer since 2019, at first bringing his broadcasting van to site and now working alongside Ben, our FoH. Aylwin is a professional producer, MD and multi-Instrumentalist and he brings this experience to Neighbourhood Sessions; much of how we treat our performers has been been based on his helpful feedback.
