Ned Roberts

Ned Roberts is an acoustic singer-songwriter, now based in Fontainebleau, France. Not long after writing his first songs, and playing open mics in his university town of York, he was discovered by producer Luther Russell (Sarabeth Tucek, Richmond Fontaine, Noah And The Whale) and brought to Los Angeles to record. Three more studio records have followed, building a repertoire of bittersweet songs that sit comfortably among the classics of the Laurel Canyon era. With shows across Europe and America, live highlights include a tour with celebrated songwriter Anais Mitchell, plus support slots for Joe Pug, Micah P. Hinson, Those Pretty Wrongs, and Sarabeth Tucek amongst others. His music has received significant national press, notably from the Guardian and Uncut magazine, featured frequently on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio Scotland, and been championed by the likes of Lauren Laverne, Jo Whiley, Gideon Coe, and Roddy Hart. In April 2024, Ned released his fourth studio album, Heavy Summer. Teaming up again with producer Luther Russell, and sound engineer Jason Hiller, Heavy Summer was recorded mostly live to a vintage 8-track tape machine, and cut and mixed in 6 days in the late LA summer heat. A new album is planned for 2025.
