Lisbee Stainton

Lisbee Stainton began writing songs over 20 years ago; she is an independent artist, songwriter, session musician and producer with over 10 years experience in the music industry, often performing almost exclusively with her distinctive and unique hand-built 8-stringed acoustic guitar at her side. She recorded her first album, Firefly, in 2006 at seventeen before going on to study Popular Music at Goldsmiths College. Since Firefly, Lisbee has gone on to release four studio albums: Girl on an unmade bed (2010), Go (2011), Word Games (2013) and self-produced Then Up (2017). In March 2018, Stainton released her sixth album, Lisbee LIVE, featuring nine versions of previously released songs and two brand new songs. Of the two new songs, one was co-written with the BBC 6music’s Tom Robinson. Every song on the album was recorded in one take and is comprised of only Lisbee’s voice and guitar. At eighteen years old, Lisbee was the first unsigned artist to play London's O2 Arena. Soon after, 6Music’s Tom Robinson discovered her song 'Red', and his support subsequently led to a further four of her tracks being play listed by BBC Radio 2. Since then, Stainton has consistently toured the UK and Europe, both as a headline act and a support act, with artists such as Joan Armatrading, Seth Lakeman, Paul Carrack, Gretchen Peters, Fisherman’s Friends and Paul Brady. After touring supporting Seth Lakeman around Germany, he asked Lisbee to join his band and subsequently she played banjo, harmonium and backing vocals in his band for four years. As a songwriter, Lisbee has co-written with songwriters in the UK such as Ivor Novello nominee Charlie Dore, Eleanor McEvoy, Tom Robinson (BBC 6music) and Ian Brown (of Mighty Village records), as well as Nashville songwriters, such as Blue Miller (India Arie), Lamont ‘Logic’ Coleman (Wyclef Jean), and BMG writer Tebey Ottoh (Pixie Lott).
